形態特徵

Trees with stinging hairs; bark rough with distinct lenticels; two year old branchlets with stinging hairs.
Leaves ovate, ovate-oblong to obovate-oblong, to 55 cm long, 27 cm wide, apex acute, cuspidate to acuminate, margins entire, rarely dentate or crenate, base obtuse, rounded, slightly cordate to subpeltate; petioles 5-18 cm long, stinging hairs of Leaves bulbous at base; stipules broadly triangular, ca. 1 cm long and wide.
Male Inflorescences cymose paniculate glomerules, branches and flowers with dense stinging hairs. Female Inflorescences usually more than 10 cm long; branchlets reddish green, with dense stinging hairs, ultimate branching angle more than 100 degrees; bracts linear, larger ones with a midvein.

分布

台灣 : in small valleys and secondary forests at low altitude, nearly throughout the island and on Lutao Island.
世界 : The Philippines.
